The final big, juicy twist at the end of the story was really creative.

After going through a pretty rough time (to say the least!) there was the perfect hint of tortured lead without the reader thinking, “move on from the past already!” The character of Jules was very likeable and easily relatable. Well, well, well, this physiological thriller did not disappoint with the spook factor this month! I have been on the edge of my seat through the entire journey of Lock Every Door with all the twists and turns thrown my way, I never knew what was coming next and I loved that! There’s nothing worse than reading about a mystery and figuring out the entire plot by the end of the first chapter! Welcome to the Bartholomew… You may never leave. And then Jules discovers that Ingrid is not the first temporary resident to go missing… Jules brushes is off as a harmless ghost story – but the next day, her new friend has vanished. But Ingrid confides that the Bartholomew is not what it seems and the dark history hidden beneath its gleaming façade is starting to frighten her. Out of place among the extremely wealthy, Jules finds herself pulled toward other apartment sitter Ingrid. Recently heartbroken and practically homeless, Jules readily accepts the terms, ready to leave her past life behind. These are the only rules for Jules Larson’s new job as apartment sitter for an elusive resident of the Bartholomew, one of Manhattan’s most high-profile private buildings and home to the rich and famous. THE CATCH: you may not live long enough to enjoy it… They’ve offered you a luxury apartment, rent free. Can you believe that 2021 is almost over?! As we stepped right into spooky season this October, the TMC Book Club delved into the chilly and macabre this month, with Riley Sager’s ‘Lock Every Door’.
